Course Objectives:

• to explore the depth of perception (i.e., to learn more about yourself and the nature of being in your design process).  to inquire into the complexity of reading / seeing / experiencing / knowing/understanding. • to practice mindfulness (the importance of paying attention).  to develop skills in design as a contemplative practice. • to inquire into the dynamic potential of poetics in the practical.  to stimulate creativity in your (visual) process of inquiry.

Your are given an object in class: a ball of twine.

Discover and communicate the meaning this object has (or can have, to you and others). Make this inquiry nonverbal. Then create a poster (a square format, 11 x 11 inch minimum, larger is better) to re-present the object.
