Davi Det Hompson

Davi Det Hompson (1939–1996), also known as David E. Thompson, was an artist/poet working in mixed media. He was active contributor to Fluxus and similar international mail art activities that used the commercial postal system. David’s works are especially known for their contribution to concrete poetry, bookworks, and performance events. After David graduated with his MFA in design from Indiana University (1966), he settled in Indianapolis, IN. Soon after Tom started to teach at Indiana University the two met which led to a lasting friendship and many collaborations. In 1970 he moved with his wife Nancy from Indiana to Richmond, VA. There he became affiliated with the Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Art and taught parttime. He has contributed to numerous galleries and was exhibited internationally.
