Concrete Poetry: 2D Type

Experimenting with Concrete Poetry in 2D space.

Concrete Poetry represents a means for making “poetry” by combining the language systems (verbal/written/letters/type) with other language systems like the visual (form, space, structure), sound (oral, instrumental, noise, etc.) or performing arts (body, dance, mime, etc.). The “atomization” of meaning from parts that relate holistically toward an infinity of ideas from their synthesis characterizes Concrete Poetry. One derives content from this holistic union by the engagement with the time and space of the poem. These experiments with poetry (or verbivovisual poetry) are shared in three sub-groups according to their style and dimensions: 2-D, 3-D, and drawings.

When the experiencer becomes truly one with a “concrete poem” this experience naturally draws out a full sense of being with a depth of awareness that is both externally aware yet also implicitly one with the Spirit within the poem and the person. This “atomization of meaning” derives from a total awareness of the smallest parts within its own “world” of constituent aspects, the values brought out by seeing their relationships to the ever growing dynamic for interconnection and relational values based on the doctrine of shells.
